Linda “Lindy” Wilberding Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 8, 2022.
Linda "Lindy" Kay Wilberding went to the Lord on April 4, 2022 at the age of 76 from heart failure.

She was born in St Johns, Michigan on May 23, 1945, the daughter of John and Mary Jane Ochis. She was predeceased by brother John "Butch" Ochis, Jr., and sisters Joyce Knight and Mary Lou Gorsline. Surviving are her two sisters, Deb and Bill French and Phyllis "Honey" Ochis and Les Koren.

Lindy married Lester Francis Wilberding on August 26, 1967. She spent 20 years working as a civilian for the Michigan National Guard while living in Dewitt, Michigan before moving to Trilogy in La Quinta, CA in 2006.

She is survived by her loving husband Lester, son Jason and wife Dolly, son Aaron and wife Gina, and daughter Lesly Combs and husband Scott; her grandchildren Ben (21) and Luke (18) Wilberding and Hunter (7), Kennedy (5) and Paige (5) Combs.

Lindy was the life of the party, whether at a small bridge night or large church group function, you knew she was in the room! Her infectious laugh and self-deprecating sense of humor left an indelible impression on all those who met "Lucky Lindy."

She loved to go shopping with her sisters and children and could never pass up a "Deal." She relished every holiday as an opportunity to decorate the house and spread the magic. Christmas was a complete takeover with every inch of the house in full regalia.

From Casinos to cruises, bowling to bocce ball, games to giggles, Lindy savored every minute spent with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren.

She met the King of her heart and love of her Life, Les over 55 years ago and they approached life in the only way Lindy knew…with passion!

Memorial Services will be held at 10a Friday, April 22, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi in La Quinta, CA. A party in true Lindy fashion will follow at Trilogy Clubhouse, 60-750 Trilogy Parkway, La Quinta, CA.
