Linda Misenheimer Obituary

Linda Borden Misenheimer made her transition on August 12, 2012 at Miami Valley Hospital after a brief illness. Linda was born July 1, 1940 in Cincinnati OH to the late Harold E. and Norma J. Faul Borden. An excellent student throughout her life, she graduated with, honors from Georgetown High School. Linda attended Miami University (Ohio) where she earned a Bachelor's in Education and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Upon graduation Linda dedicated her life to raising her children. In 1977 she began her career teaching special education with the Dayton Public Schools. Linda earned a Master's degree in 1989 from Wright State, and retired in 2005. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Marilyn Ann Lewis (Borden) and special aunt, Margaret Whisner. Linda leaves to cherish three sons and two daughters-in-law, William K. (Carey) Misenheimer, Jeffery A. Misenheimer, all of Dayton, Douglas S. (Tranisha) Misenheimer, of Austin, TX, one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle (Michael Cox) Misenheimer of Dayton, seven grandchildren, one brother, William Borden of Daytona Beach FL, a host of nieces and nephews and one special niece Jennifer Lewis. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Tobias Funeral Home – Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45429. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the funeral home. Rev. David W. Tackett officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Institute for Cancer Research, 1759 R. Street, NW, Washington D.C. 20009 or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. I was Linda's college roomate our freshman year at Miami and her Matron of Honor at her wedding . My husband David was the Best man. I received a letter from Linda only two months ago before I left on vacation and wanted to get together. Linda was a wonderful mother, grandmother, teacher and friend. She was a beautiful person, and loving and caring for others was natural to her. Linda was like a ray of sunshine breaking through a cloudy day. She will be missed.
