Linda Morton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 24, 2024.
Linda Lee (Shiveley) Morton was born on March 8, 1943 in Monterey Park, California to Betty Monfort and Robert Shiveley. She attended El Monte High School where she met the love of her life, Wally Morton. They married in 1962 and enjoyed over 60 years together building a family, friends that became family, a beautiful home and many camping adventures. Linda's carreer took her to Grant School where she worked as a Teacher's Aide to those needing a little more assistance making a difference in many children's lives.

A sweet, loving and generous soul. Linda had a big heart and even bigger smile for everyone she met.

She loved deeply and was fiercely loyal to all she loved. She always made you feel special and celebrated any accomplishment no matter how small because to her it was big.

Her incredible strength and tenacity was key to building the beautiful life she enjoyed with her high school sweetheart Wally.

She loved the outdoors especially the ocean, gardening, butterflies and spending time with her family.

A talented wreath maker who pulled inspriation from the beauty around her, she combined color, texture and natural materials to weave the wreaths into beautiful heirloom pieces.

Linda passed away on April 4, 2024 with her sons by her side. She is survived by her two sons Eric (Sandra)Morton and Colin (Kimberly) Morton and three grandsons, Mateen, Zayd, and Dylan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Walter (Wally) H. Morton Jr.; parents Betty Monfort and Robert Shiveley; and her brother, Larry Shiveley.

A Celebration of Life will be May 4, 2024.
