Linda Susan Owen

Linda Susan Owen, age 54 years of Mullica Hill, died Tues day, June 15, 2004 in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. Mrs. Owen was born and raised in Swedesboro and lived in Mullica Hill for the last 20 years. She retired after 15 years of service as the deputy tax assessor for West Deptford Township. Mrs. Owen was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Mullica Hill. She was the past president and treasurer of the Gloucester County Tax Assessor’s Association; chairperson of the John Kuelar Scholarship Fund for the Assessor’s Association and a member of the AAMANJ.

Mrs. Owen enjoyed camping at Shell Bay Campground and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Her infectious laughter will be remembered.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Stephen K. Owen Sr. of Mullica Hill; her children, Tracy and Michael VanEtten of Mullica Hill; Stephen Jr. and Lisa Owen of Perkiomenville, Pa., Michele and Kevin Mason of Miramar, Fla.; her grandchildren, John-Michael, Andrew, Stephen, Katelyn and Kyle; her mother, Josephine Lucas of Rio Grande; her brothers, John Lucas of Swedesboro and Chris Lucas of Woolwich Township; her sisters, Cindy Briglin and Cheryl Kandt both of Oswego, N.Y. and Teresa Camilli of Egg Harbor Township. Mrs. Owen was predeceased by her father, E. John Lucas and her sister, Rosemarie Locantora.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2004 in the Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Earlington Avenue, Mullica Hill. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the McBRIDE-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 228 West Broad Street, Paulsboro. Interment New St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Swedesboro. Contributions can be made to the family.

Linda, the Lucas' and the Owens' have been wonderful friends for as long as I can remember. I have many happy memories of camping and fun down the shore. She wil always have a place in my heart. She will be deeply missed. My love and prayers to her family.
