Linda Jean Rose Polk

Linda Polk of Fort Hancock, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, in El Paso, Texas. Linda was born in El Paso County, Texas on Dec. 26, 1949, to Bennett L. Rose and Elsie Green Rose. She graduated from Ft. Hancock High School in 1968, and attended Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. On May 23, 1970, she married the love of her life, Jerry M. Polk, in Ft. Hancock. Together they farmed and built a successful tax service business in Ft. Hancock where they raised their two children and were very active in the church and community. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bennett Rose Jr.; and granddaughter, Kaylee Grace Crider. She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry; her son, Wade Polk and wife Tamara; her daughter Wendy Crider and husband Chad; her brother, Terry D. Rose (who lovingly called her Jane) and his wife Billie, also of Fort Hancock. In addition, Linda (Nana) is survived by five grandchildren, Chase Crider, Cara Crider, Payton Polk, Paige Polk, and Presley Polk, all of whom brought her great joy. Linda touched countless lives through the years and will be remembered for her generosity, love of country, her faith, her outspoken conservatism and her joy of living. She loved her companion dogs, each finding her rather than her finding them. She loved her Lord and loved people. She uplifted everyone she met and those around her with her optimism and positive energy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be given in her memory to Ft. Hancock Community Church, 6160 FM 192, Ft. Hancock, Texas 79838, or to her favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or From the Heart Rescue, Canutillo, Texas. A celebration of life service will be at 10:00 AM at Fort Hancock Community Church with graveside to follow. Services directed by San Jose Funeral Home-Fabens (915) 764-2254.
