SILCOTT LINDA BURGESS

Of Reisterstown, Maryland, passed away on August 24, 2018 in Atlanta, GA. Linda was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Betty Sauers on November 5, 1949. She grew up in the Rosedale Community of Verona, Pennsylvania and went to Penn Hills High School. She left Pittsburgh in the early 1970's to pursue a life and career in Orlando, Florida. She met and married Bill Burgess and had a daughter, Lisbeth ("Libby"), who was the light of her life. Bill and Linda were later divorced but remained great friends. Linda was skilled and successful at everything she tried - from Real Estate to Advertising to the Culinary Arts. She made friends everywhere she went. On July 7, 2007, she married Edward Norton Silcott ("MC") in Baltimore, Maryland surrounded by dear friends and family. Linda was an avid reader, excellent at puzzles (both crossword and jigsaw...and don't forget the legos she loved to build with her grandchildren), a wonderful cook, and a dearly beloved Friend, Aunt, Sister, Daughter, Mother, Grandmother and Wife. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew her. She is preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Joseph and Betty Sauers of Verona, PA. Linda B. Silcott is survived by her husband, Ed Silcott; her daughter, Libby Quiner; and her son-in-law, Paul Quiner; her grandchildren, Harris, Sallie, Gardner, Banks and Isaac; Ed's five children; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; her brother, Gary Sauers; and her sister-in-law Debbie Sauers; her Sister, Michelle Winter; and her brother-in-law Ray Winter; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and dear extended family and friends. A Memorial Service in her honor will be held in Atlanta, Georgia at H.M. Patterson Ogelthorpe Hill Chapel on Saturday, September 8th at 2 p.m. A second Memorial Service will be held in her hometown of Verona, PA on Saturday, the 22nd at Rosedale United Methodist Church (details TBD). Linda's greatest accomplishment and pride in life was her family (and dear friends that were family). So, in honor of her and in lieu of flowers or a Memorial Donation, spend some time (and money if you have it) sharing something special with the loved ones in your life.
