Linda Lou Simmerer, 67, of Wellington, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at Manor Care Health Services in North Olmsted.
Born in Wayneburg, Pa., on Dec. 13, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Charles Knecht and Ivy (nee Garrison) Knecht. Linda had grown up in Wellington and graduated in 1968. Linda loved to dance and was involved in competitions. She also enjoyed the great outdoors and camping. She had worked at the Marriott Sheraton for many years.
Survivors include her siblings, Brenda McQuate of Wellington, Diane Geiger of North Olmsted, Maureen Becker of Elyria, Ilene Swinksi of Bay Village, and Russell Knecht; four nieces, three nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her niece, Tammy.
Services were held Monday, Aug. 7 at Greenwood Cemetery in Wellington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at www.hdsa.org. Online condolences may be expressed at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.

Its hard to imagine the world without Linda. I will always remember her as the kind, caring, generous person that she was. She will always hold a special place in my heart. She will be missed.
