Linda Tripp Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 25, 2024.
In Loving Memory of Linda Lorraine Tripp, Born October 13th,1961 in Brownsville, Texas.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Lorriane Tripp, a cherished mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend. Unexpectedly and peacefully, she left us on Feb 19, 2024, at the age of 62.

As a devoted mother, Linda Lorraine Tripp is survived by daughters Kyle and Kaitlin Tripp mother Barbara Schleuning, brother Jeffrey (Ilene) Schleuning, nephews Jackson (Conley) and Mclaren Schleuning, each a living testament to the enduring impact of her love. Linda is predeceased by her father Ted Schleuning. Her memory will forever be intertwined with the warmth and love she brought to her family and friends.

Linda's love for animals was engrained from a young age. Her affinity for them blossomed during childhood, spending time with her father at the Detroit Police Mounted Stables and later during her initial job at a veterinary clinic. Throughout her life she welcomed a myriad of animals into her home - cats, dogs, horses, goats, mules, a macaw, and even a trained crow. Linda's compassionate nature led her to rescue animals in need.

Linda graduated from Thurston High School in Redford, Michigan, in 1979 and pursued Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University. She then joined the Wayne County Sheriff's Department, working as a K9 Tracker and Cadaver handler alongside her cherished K9 companion, Lance. Linda's diverse experiences included being a dolphin and seal trainer at Cedar Point Amusement Park and serving as the head aquarist at the Mystic Marine Life Aquarium, where she engaged with the public and specialized in training seals and working with the penguins. For the past 12 years, Linda worked with her brother Jeff as the trade show manager at Everdry Waterproofing where she was adored by everyone she encountered.

During her free time, Linda passionately explored deep-sea diving, eventually leading her to the East Coast, where she embarked on a new chapter as a mother, raising two children, Kyle and Kaitlin. She enjoyed spending her time attending Kyle's hockey games and supporting Kaitlin in her equestrian competitions.

Linda's family invites relatives and friends to join them in a celebration of her life on March 9, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Big Tommy's Parthenon in Novi.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donating in Linda's honor to either the Michigan War Dog Memorial (www.mwdm.org) or the Howell Nature Preserve (www.howellnaturecenter.org/donate) specifically designated for wildlife rehabilitation. Your contributions will be a meaningful tribute to Linda's love for animals and her commitment to worthy causes.

I remember how much fun Linda and I had as riding buddies at Cedar Point one year we all camped there together. Many memories of our visits as children. So shocked and sorry to hear of your loss. I found out about this too late to make it from Arizona. Wish I could be there.

I remember seeing my cousin Linda swim with the dolphins and hiding my dads keys and Lance finding them. So sad to find out about her passing. My love to Aunt Barbara and Jeff sorry I will be out of town and unable to make the memorial service.

Linda will truly be missed by all. I will never forget our fun memories in Alaska and most recently in Florida together. Seeing the absolute pure joy on Linda´s face seeing sea lions and orcas will always make me smile. Linda knew how to make us laugh til our faces hurt. Tripp/ Schleuning family you are so loved

Linda was funny and motivated. We once were supposed to meet at 9am. She told me she got up, drank some coffee, and was on the road only to realize it was 9pm. She was kind and will be missed.
