Bill and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Linda's passing. One of my sharpest memories is of that van ride from Cape Cod in 1972, and the vitality, warmth and brightness of Linda.

Linda was a gift to all those who knew her and she leaves behind the legacy of a great woman. I had the pleasure of working with Linda in the Literacy Dept. She made our world a better place through her smiles, charm, wit, optimism. Most importantly she gave thousands of children hope and dreams for a brighter future with her talents as dedicated teacher. I will light a candle for her and pray that her spirit continues to glow in the hearts of the many people in whose lives she so lovingly touched.

Bill, you are one of the amazing people I've ever known, and you can't separate that from the long love and life you had with Linda. When I saw you together, I was always amazed at how much passion and excitement and love you always had for each other -- true soul mates. I have often thought about how you met and how you came to love Dorchester as you built your life with Linda. I'll always remember her great laughter at the player piano, sitting in your kitchen, or at various events around town. I always loved her passion for teaching too and her passionate belief that anyone with a good heart can connect with anyone. She was proof of that! And what great jobs you both did raising your kids! I know that as your feel the pain of this great loss you will always feel Linda's spirit. That spirit extends so far, farther than we can ever know. Peace, Bill.

My sister found and created a life of trust, love, and happiness with her husband Bill Walczak.
Her children were a great source of satisfaction and pride with their good accomplishments.
Many years ago, our mother Josephine reports her visit with Linda's 3rd grade teacher in Milton. The teacher said to mother, "What do I tell a parent with a child who does everything perfectly?"

Dear Linda,
It was such a pleasure to know you and to work with you.
You represent the very best of the Boston Public Schools. You have left a legacy of readers who learned to read at the hands of a caring and loving teacher.
As a coach you were a true mentor and knowledgeable colleague always ready to pitch and work side by side.
I will remember your kindness, generosity and of course your sense of style.
Love,
Ann
