Lionel HOULE Obituary
September 1, 1922 - March 20, 2012
Predeceased by his son Marcel and brothers Neil, Larry and Roger. Survived by his partner Audrey Terry; mother of his children Louise Houle, children Norm (Nancy), (Kelly), Majella (Fred), Paul (Irene), Ray (Sheri), Colette (Rob), Michele, Rick, 19 grandchildren, 6 great- grandchildren, siblings Don, Aline, Cecile, Dennis and numerous nieces and nephews. Lionel was born in Howell (Prud'homme) Sask. After marrying Louise they started their family in Port Alberni, followed by moves to Terrace and Kitimat. They settled in Burnaby in 1961. Lionel was a successful businessman and founded two companies, Houle Electric Ltd. and Houle Hi- Reach. His pastimes included curling, attending Vancouver Canucks games, world travel, skiing, scuba diving and motor home travel. A long-time member of the RVYC, Lionel had a passion for boating and fishing and enjoyed hosting family and friends aboard his various yachts. In his later years Lionel lived at the Renaissance in Langley. A celebration of life will be held on March 31, 2012 at 1:30 pm at the Coast Hotel and Convention Centre, 20393 Fraser Hwy, Langley. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of BC are appreciated.

I looked after Lionel at the renaissance for 5 years. He was a great man that made me laugh. Lionel you will be missed dearly. May you rest in peace.

Our sincerest sympathies to Audrey and the Houle Family.
Where to begin - 1991 when Audrey and I moved to Riverwest, Lionel was already next door. It was a warm welcome which continued for many years. Lionel introduced us to a very nice life style that he lived and enjoyed very much, whether it was boating, cruising, Palm Springs, fine dinning at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club and many other wonderful events. We continued to keep in touch even after Lionel moved.
Audrey and I considered Lionel a good friend and neighbor, he has given us a life time of wonderful memories. It was an honour to have him in our lives.
