Lisa Bordelon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 14, 2023.
Our beloved Lisa Ann Bordelon returned to her Heavenly Father on December 12th 2023 at the young age of 62. Lisa was born in the small quaint town of Washington, Louisiana to loving parents Elias "Bud" and Lou Dean Bordelon. Her adoring Papa often referred to her as his "Junior" and she later became the eldest sister to three younger sisters, who she loved dearly.

Lisa's caring spirit and generous heart could be felt by anyone she came in contact with. She had a special gift of not only seeing the good in people but bringing out the best in them as well, all while serving anything she could whip up in a black iron pot. Lisa was a creative painter, decorator, and the best cook in the family (sorry Hayes). She was also an avid lover of the outdoors and spent much of her time in nature fishing, camping, and boating. Her love for nature brought out the happy free spirit that defined her. Lisa was always known for rallying the family together for a weekend spent outside around a fire while she again cooked (in her trusty black-iron) and served everyone. After she made sure everyone's stomach was full, she would crank up the tunes. Lisa was always the life of the party, often dragging her younger sisters and rest of the family into a group dance and completely tone-deaf karaoke sessions.

Lisa's love for the outdoors, music, and good times were only surpassed by the love she had for her family. Lisa was an incredible big sister and always made sure she spent quality time with her sisters often. She was the matriarch of the group and was the glue that held everyone together, always selfless even in her final hours. Lisa was an incredible sister, but was an even more wonderful mother to her only son Brandon. Brandon will forever be Lisa's pride and joy, but the only thing she may have loved more was her sweet grandbabies who called her "Mimi". Lisa was a sister, mother, and great friend to so many who were blessed to know her in this life. Lisa's long time partner Kurt was someone that Lisa meshed whole-heartedly with and he became a part of her family instantly. Kurt was her dance partner, confidant, and best friend. Lisa was a bonus mother to Kurt's two wonderful children. To know Lisa, was to love and confide in her, and she made that so easy. She made life so easy, because she took it head on with love. Lisa didn't just enjoy life, she loved it. And she taught everyone she knew how to do the same. Lisa was always selfless and put others first, no matter what hardships she faced. She was fun loving, outgoing, vivacious, confident, and head-strong. She was an example to so many and a shining light to all who knew her. When you think of Lisa, celebrate the good memories you have of her, sing loud, dance wild, and love hard. Remember that life should be lived to the fullest, because that is how she lived it.

Lisa is preceded in death by her father Elias Joseph "Bud" Bordelon. She is survived by her Mother, Lou Dean Bordelon, her son, Brandon Shane Ortego (Miranda Faye Thompson), her life-partner Kurt Patrick Pizzeck, and sisters Linda Bordelon Richard, Sandy Bordelon Mann (David Mann) Michelle Bordelon Nepveaux (Chad Nepveaux).

Lisa is leaving her legacy with her grandchildren: Barrett Shane Ortego, Brylee Paige Ortego, and Tucker James Ortego. As well as her countless nieces and nephews; Candace Pitre Meche, Chandler Warren, Courtney Warren, Alex Nepveaux, Hayes Nepveaux, Taylor Mann, Jenya Mann, and Misha Mann, Courtney Lachney and Christina Manuel. Also, her bonus children Kurt "Skip" Patrick Pizzeck II and Jessica Celeste Pizzeck. And her bonus grandchildren, Hannah Grace Arabie and Sylus John Arabie.

Lisa requested her final celebration to be an intimate family memorial. If you want to truly celebrate Lisa...breakout your biggest pot, make a gumbo, pour a drink, crank up the music, and LOVE BIG!

My step mother made magic without trying. She healed hearts without knowing. She is the seam at which grace and power meet. She loved and gave love endlessly, effortlessly. She was truly a wizard.
