Lisa Jarmon Obituary
Lisa graduated from Ross Shaw Sterling High School, top of her class in 1980 and continued to major in Accounting at University of Houston.
Lisa was no stranger to servant-hood once she joined New Faith in 1989. She participated in numerous ministries, events and activities which included Girl Scouts, hospitality, etc. Her love for the Lord overflowed in the unique and contagious praise she gave when the spirit of God overtook her. Although she was active in schools with children she sought no accolades. Known as a mother to many, it wasn’t uncommon to find her with a carload of children for Vacation Bible School or opening her home to those in need. Such a genuinely kind and vibrant person,
Lisa was synonymous with generosity and lively energy. This caught the attention of Ellen Degeneres in 2011 and which marked a succession of blessings and outpouring. Lisa gained the favor of many as she first showed herself friendly thereby touching their lives with her transparency and realness. Her laughter could fill a room and her dance undoubtedly sparked jubilation within you. Her heart was huge and so was her unwavering faith when given diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer. She fought like a soldier until the end, impacting the nursing staff with her joy, Lisa was found showing concern even for those who cared for her.
The world grew slightly more dim at11:29am, February 21, 2019 as she transitioned home to the Lord.
What a kind loving example sure to make you smile and never to be forgotten! Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her children: Kiandra, Korey and Kaylian Jarmon; Grandchildren: Aaliyah Jarmon, Aniyah Lankford, Isaac, and Ember; Siblings: Reuben C. Jarmon, Jr. [deceased] (Jewel), Christopher (Alexandra), Cassandra, and Rosalyn (Barry); Nieces and nephews: Michael Sr. (Anita), Kenneth, Kourtney, Roben, Reuben III, Cameron, Sonyά, Eliza, Reese, and Stella; Great nieces and nephews Michael Jr., Travaiya, Tianna, Tereana, Kassius; and a host of Meemaw’s babies.

All I can say is, what an amazing woman she was. I just watched her appearances on the Ellen show and the joy of the Lord that bubble out of her is life changing. Although she is no longer here, she still lives on and is impacting people’s lives. What an amazing legacy to leave. God’s love shined extremely bright through her. My prayers are with her family.

So, I’m sitting here ugly crying for a woman I didn’t even know personally- but I did. Her clips from the Ellen Show popped up on my fb page so I decided to watch them again. I realized I’d hadn’t seen an update but on Lisa’s health battle and googled her name only to find out she died. Lisa was one of us , just doing her thang by working and giving God praise and taking care of her kids. She was me, she was you , she was us. Her sweet expressive face and humble disposition left a indelible mark in this world. SHE WAS HERE . By far my favorite guest on the Ellen Show.

I just saw her on one of Ellen's flashback shows ( that showed when Ellen had Lisa on after she learned she had stage 4 Breast cancer) and I to wanted to see how she was doing so I googled Lisa and was so sad to hear she had passed. This world has lost a beautiful sole. This brought tears to my eyes. I was so taken in by her story. She was truly a survivor in so many ways. I hope that so many beautiful women listen to Lisa's story and take in all she has accomplished and learn how to be strong like she was. May Lisa Rest In Peace.

I just saw a recap of Lisa's first time she was on Ellen and I remember seeing that show when it aired. That link was linked to several other times that Lisa was on Ellen shows including the one where she had found out she had cancer and had just had chemo a few days prior to being at that show. (This was a show that i had missed so i didnt know about the cancer until just now) Of course after seeing that show I had to Google her name because I wanted to see how she was doing now. I was so very sad to hear that she died earlier this year. It's hard to understand why I have been crying uncontrollably for some time now for someone that I never knew. But like Ellen said she was like family. When she was on the show she was so joyful and that joy just seemed to flow to everyone around her and to so many others that watched her when she was on the show. I wish that many more people could be like her. Sharing love and pure joy with others. In the world today we need more people like her!!! I look forward to one day meeting Lisa in Heaven and giving her a big hug! She really was a person that loved others and seemed to glow with joy even when the road ahead was unsure. Thank you Lisa for reminding me to love everyone, to share God's love and to be joyful! Praying for her family and friends as they mourn her loss, but celebrate that she is in Heaven rejoicing!

Just found out about Lisas passing in February. Only recently saw her on Ellen in October 2018 and had to go back and watch all her previous Ellen visits. We all need a Lisa Jarmon in our lives. I saw her on The Ellen Show before and watched the tribute Ellen gave for her with clips of her interview, and just wanted to say that I am deeply sorry for her loss and to her family as well. She was so humble, joyful, happy, and had such a big heart for Ellen, her family and herself.
