Lisa Shute Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 6, 2024.
Lisa Marie (Batchelder) Shute of Thornton NH passed unexpectedly, yet peacefully, in her sleep on Tuesday August 27, 2024, in Durango Colorado.

She was born on August 21, 1971, at Concord Hospital to James and Penny Batchelder. She attended Holderness Central School and Plymouth AREA High School where she met her husband of over 33 years, Richard Shute. The couple graduated in 1990 and resided in North Carolina and Loudon NH before moving to their current residence in Thornton. Lisa and Rich have two sons, Richard Shute Jr. and Steven Shute.

Lisa devoted many hours volunteering for the Plymouth Huskies Football and Cheer program, eventually serving as president of the organization. As her sons moved up, she became an extremely active Plymouth Bobcat Football booster.

Lisa recently found her calling as a Community Health Worker at Mid-State Health Center. She facilitated workshops on Chronic Disease Self-Management, met families at the Whole Village Family Resource Center and RISE Recovery Services, and conducted home visits. In her words, "The most rewarding aspect is seeing the pieces come together for families and individuals and helping them meet the needs that are most important to them." She took great joy in witnessing the transformation as those she assisted gained confidence and became more self-sufficient. Lisa embodied the essence of community health - supporting, empowering, and inspiring positive change. "It's about empowering individuals to navigate their challenges and grow stronger from their experiences."

Well known for her creativity, Lisa had many talents and interests. She enjoyed a variety of crafts, especially creating jewelry and mosaics. She loved all things 'nature' including animals, collecting rocks and crystals from an early age. Lisa was also an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan!

Lisa was both deeply appreciated by and devoted to her family. The annual Cousins' Party was a favorite family event.

Lisa is survived by her husband of 33 years, Richard Shute, sons Richard Shute Jr. and Steven Shute of Thornton, parents James and Penny Batchelder of Franklin, brother James Batchelder III and wife, Judy, of Allenstown NH. Her cousins Sandra Sattler of Hooksett, Lynda Moore of Canterbury, and Andrea Bourgeois of Pembroke were as close as sisters to her. She is also survived by her nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

Lisa is predeceased by her grandparents, James and Lucy Batchelder of Pembroke and Henry and Jean Mosher of Errol.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 15, 2024, from 11 AM to 1PM at the Merrimack Valley Railroad Function Hall located at 5 Park Street, Northfield NH. A light lunch will be served. Donations in Lisa's honor may be made to Plymouth Area Huskies Football and Cheer program, a youth sports program in your area or a local animal shelter.

I remember riding in the Jeep with Rich when I was learning to drive. It was so long ago. I remember how we were all smiling and laughing.
There are so many fond times from the farm, Camp and when you were at Pembroke Academy living at the farm.
So many good cousin´s parties too.

I love you Lisa. I know you´ll watch over us all who love you.
