Lisa G. Whitley, 46, of Dale City, VA went to be with the lord on July 6, 2015. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas on October 27, 1968 to the late Leavion C. Barnett and Bessie Marie Barnett (Walker). Lisa served in the United States Army for 4 years, upon leaving the Army she attained an associate's degree and soon began working for the Federal government, serving the last several years as an information security officer for the Department of Defense, Washington Headquarters Services. Lisa was a hardworking and dedicated employee and she enjoyed her work. While in her position, Lisa enjoyed many strong and lasting friendships. Lisa re-dedicated her life to Christ as a young adult as member of Dale City Christian Church, and later became a member of Christ Chapel Assembly of God, participating in the Woman's ministries, bible study and prayer sessions as well as fellowship and Sunday church service. Lisa was very faithful to her lord and loved her family very much. Lisa enjoyed cooking; she was an amazing cook, however her specialty was desserts, her passion and gift lead to her open her own business, Gert's Desserts LLC ,some of her most famous desserts were blondies, banana pudding, and red velvet cake. Lisa is survived by her loving husband of twenty-five years, Reginald C. Whitley, Sr., daughter, Regina Marie Whitley; son, Reginald C. Whitley II; three sisters, Sheila Crayton, Castaleanda Golden, and Denise Parker; five brothers, Leavion Barnett Jr., Richard Fuller, Gregory Barnett, Anthony Fuller, and Louis Crayton, and grandson, Dominick-Leavion. Family and friends will be received at Christ Chapel Assembly of God, 13909 Smoketown Road, Woodbridge, VA 22192 on Monday, July 13, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. A life celebration service will be held at the Christ Chapel on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, Dale City VA.
