Lloyd Mundell Obituary
Lloyd Arthur Mundell was born on Dec. 26, 1924, in rural Cummingville, Olmsted County, to Arthur and Lillian Mae (Martin) Mundell. He grew up on the family farm and attended rural school. Lloyd farmed and had a long career as a car salesman. He moved to Rochester where he was a caretaker of an apartment complex and also did the maintenance work with another employee, Opal Wiersma. They became friends and eventually life partners and were happy for a number of years. Opal died on Oct. 25, 2008. Lloyd continued to call Rochester his home.
He enjoyed reading, following the news, watching old movies, especially John Wayne movies and watching NASCAR and horse racing.
Lloyd is survived by two stepdaughters, Beverly Griffeth, of Homer, Alaska, and Bea Chesney, of Ontario, Ore.; and cousins, John (Kathy) Mundell, of Viola, and Ed Mundell, of Eyota.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Donna Mundell.
There is no service or visitation planned at this time. Burial at Orion Center Cemetery in rural Chatfield will take place at a later date.
