Lloyd Branch Savage Jr.

Sublimity - Cpt. Lloyd Branch Savage Jr. PLS, 77, of Sublimity, OR, passed away on September 4, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. Lloyd was born on June 9, 1946, and was known for his love of pets, particularly his dogs, whom he treated as family. He had a deep passion for water-related activities, from deep-sea fishing to sailing.

Cpt. Lloyd is survived by his devoted wife Sue, his sister Michiele, and his six children: Amber, Gael, Tad, Nancy, Matt, and John the Moose.

Cpt. Lloyd attended Stayton Union High School, where he laid the foundation for his future achievements. He further pursued his education at Oregon State University, where he played the trombone in the band and received his letter for his performance at the Rose Bowl.

In his professional life, Lloyd made significant contributions as a Land Surveyor, working on various noteworthy projects. He played a vital role in the development of the Light Rail system, the Banfield Highway, and the reconstruction of St. Helens Road system after it erupted in 1980. His dedication and expertise left a lasting impact on the communities he served.

Cpt. Lloyd recently found solace in his faith, embracing Christianity and undergoing baptism. He worshiped at the Church on the Hill, finding salvation and peace in his spiritual journey.

Honoring Cpt. Lloyd's wishes, a private cremation ceremony will be held, and his ashes will be scattered into the Pacific Ocean, where he spent countless hours sailing and fishing. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the SPCA.

Cpt. Lloyd Branch Savage Jr. will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will forever be cherished, and his legacy will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched...
