Obituary for Lois Clara Jowers Arscott


Mrs. Lois C. Arscott was born February 16, 1934 in Sunny South, Alabama and a resident of Pompano Beach, Florida. She departed this life on Thursday, June 26, 2014 in the comfort of her home and the presence of her loving husband.

Her early childhood was spent in Sunny South, Alabama where she received her early education and graduated from Annmanie High School. Later she moved to Fort Lauderdale/Pompano Beach, Florida where she resided until death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vivian and Mattie Jowers as well as five brothers; John Henry, Cecil, Leno, Rudolph, and Adolph Jowers.

She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted and loving husband of forty years, Desmond Arscott. Three sisters; Ethel J. McNeil (Steve) of Mobile, Alabama, Bertha J. Melton of Mobile, Alabama and Rheto J. White of Birmingham , Alabama. Two brothers; Robert and Marvin Jowers both of Mobile, Alabama. Three sister-in-laws; Sheila Smith, from Jamaica, Helen West(bennie) from Miami, Lynette Prichard from Charleston, South Carolina. Five brother-in-laws; Lesley Arscott(Thea) from Canada, Eric Arscott from Canada, Shirley Arscott (Gertrude) of Coral Springs, FL. and Earl Arscott(Twana) from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A host of precious nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends.

Lois was a health care provider at North Broward Hospital for twenty-two years. She did other health care work until she started caring for babies and toddlers where she found her true love and calling. She was always with a child in her arms, nearby or in her conversation. She was kind and dearly loved children-all children and discriminated against none.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 2nd of July 2014 at noon. Body viewing will be at 10:00 a.m.
