Lois Marcelia Hildreth Cowan

May 17, 1927 - February 23, 2023 Lois Cowan passed away peacefully at her home in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA at the age of 95. She was a native Californian born in Los Angeles to Margaret Monahan Hildreth and Ernest Lee Hildreth. Her only sibling, John Lee Hildreth, predeceased her in 1989. Lois was married for 70 wonderful years to Richard S. Cowan, D.D.S., (decd. August 2020). They met in the summer of 1947 on Balboa Island while attending the University of Southern California. Lois and Dick remained active within the Trojan community throughout their lives. Upon graduating, she became an elementary school teacher, before becoming a mother of four. The Cowans were devoted members of St. John Fisher Church, where the service and interment will be held at 11a.m. on April 1st, 2023. Lois is survived by her children: Dennis Cowan (decd. 2023), Melissa Rochte (Tim), Kathleen Kendall (Ken), and Rich Cowan (Michele); and six grandchildren: Owen, Evan, and Monica Rochte; Christine Kendall; Cameron and Justin Cowan, D.D.S.
