Lois Fitch Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 7, 2011.
Lois Fitch went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 7th.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2011, in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, with Dr. Caro Russell officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Lois was born on July 3, 1928 to Dovie and Nathan Biggs in Casa, Arkansas. She married Jim Fitch on May 10, 1951. They moved to Chicago, Illinois where they had their son, Jerry. After retirement, Lois and her family moved to Arkansas where she enjoyed gardening and being with her family. She later moved to Abilene to be closer to her son and grandchildren. Lois was a member of the Wesley Class at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She enjoyed the game day on Tuesdays at the church.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; and two brothers, William Biggs and Donald Biggs.

Lois is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Renee Fitch and two grandchildren, Josh and Sarah, all of Abilene and one brother, Lemoyne Biggs of Little Rock, Arkansas.

We would like to express our thanks to Dr. Melnyk and staff for all their loving care of our mother. Also, our appreciation to Hospice of the Big Country and Wisteria Place and the support they gave during this difficult time.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Big Country, 4601 Hartford, 2nd Floor, Abilene, Texas 79605 or the American Cancer Society, 209 South Danville, Suite B-107, Abilene, Texas 79605.
