GREENSBORO- Mrs. Lois Victoria Coleman Oakley, age 70, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday morning August 21, 2007 at Morningview of Greensboro.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday August 23, 2007, at Forbis & Dick North Elm Chapel. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Lois Victoria Coleman Oakley was born in Wilkes County April 14, 1937 the daughter of Isom Melvin Coleman and Ina Mae Gregory Coleman. She was of the Baptist faith. Lois had lived in Greensboro since 1942. She graduated from Rankin High School in 1955 where she was a member of the Beta Club. Lois worked for Jefferson Pilot Life Insurance Company forty years in the actuarial department.
Lois was a sweet, kind, loving lady and a friend, a caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Isom Coleman and Ina Mae Gregory Coleman, three brothers, Von Preston Coleman, Aldean Melvin Coleman and Eugene Fredrick Coleman and two sisters, Lona Coleman Johnson and Mary Alice Coleman.
Lois is survived by her loving husband of fifty two years, Jimmy Lee Oakley, Sr. of the home three sons, Jimmy Oakley and wife Deborah of Greensboro, Johnny Oakley of Greensboro and Gary Oakley of Greensboro; her sister Lorene Coleman Thompson and husband Willard of Coleridge; four grandchildren, Kyle Matthew Oakley of Greensboro, Laura Oakley Westwood and husband Frankie of Greensboro, Jeremy Len Oakley and wife Lindsey of Greensboro and Danny Len Oakley and wife Melissa of Greensboro; two great grandchildren, Kayla Christina Borusewicz and Harley Victoria Oakley; brothers and sister in laws, Hal and Helen Oakley, Lucille Oakley West, Shelby Oakley Nichols, Doug and Nan Oakley, Betty and Glenn Chambers, Alvin and Dot Oakley and Eddy and Kathy Oakley; several nieces and nephews and countless friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening August 22, 2007 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Forbis & Dick North Elm Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.forbisanddick.com
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27401, or Shady Grove Baptist Church, 2781 South Wendy Gap Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
The family would like to express its sincere thanks and appreciation to Hospice of Greensboro and the staff and nurses of Morningview Assisted Living.

To the Oakley Family,
I just found out yesterday and was not able to make it today but I would like you to know Lois made such an impact on my life when I worked at Morningview. What an amazing woman and friend. She will be very much missed. I can truly say I was blessed to know her and loved her as well as all of you very dearly. Please accept my sincerest apology for not being there today to celebrate her life, and know I am thinking of you and all of you are in my prayers.
