Lon L. Garner

Funeral for Lon L. Garner, 81, of San Augustine will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at First Baptist Church, San Augustine, with the Rev. Sylvan James Clark officiating. Burial will be in Mosiac Cemetery, San Augustine. Mr. Garner died Aug. 26, 2008, at his residence. He was owner and director of Percy Garner and Son Mortuary, San Augustine, for more than 50 years. Survivors include his wife, Vonzella Garner of San Augustine; sons, David Garner and Alex Garner, both of San Augustine; daughter, Conchita Forest of McKinney; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, at Garner Mortuary Chapel followed by a memorial service from 6 until 8 p.m. at True Vine Baptist Church, San Augustine.
