Lonna Hatfield Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 19, 2025.
Lonna Rae Hatfield, born on October 27, 1942, in Fulda, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona, surrounded by her loving family. She was 82 years old.

Lonna's life was marked by deep connections with those around her and a spirited love for the simple joys that brought her happiness. She shared many cherished years with her husband, Jon Hatfield.

She was a proud and loving mother to Kevin Renken and his wife Debbie; Jodi Nordman and her husband Mark; and Kevin Hatfield and his wife Donna. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren-Melissa Wade, Michelle Hartell (John), Nathan Renken (Mook), Kristina Renken, Britni Thompson (Jeremy), Chelsy Rosett (Bryan), Alyssa Nordman, Matthew Hatfield, and Kaylee Myran (Zach)-and further to her thirteen great-grandchildren who brought joy to her later years.

Lonna also shared a close bond with her sisters Sheila Seashore (Gene) and Patti Roach (Dan), treasuring the lifelong connection they maintained. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Irene Ommen, as well as her brothers Randy Ommen and Roger Ommen.

Throughout her life, Lonna found delight in fishing trips that connected her with nature's calm beauty. Her love for dogs reflected the kindness she extended to all living things. Music was a constant companion in her life-whether listening or singing along-and she enjoyed the lighthearted fun of playing pull tabs.

Lonna's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew them. Their memory will live on through the stories shared among family and friends and the legacy of love they leave behind.

May their memory bring comfort to those who knew them. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 13, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM at American Legion 328 Broadway Ave St Paul Park, MN

While I read all the sweet memories and comments of friends and family, I cannot help but think we were blessed to have 4 years of your smile, and zestful energy for living. Kind, friendly and inviting are a few words that come to mind, and how you liked my wife Mirna saying she's so pretty. I added sure, when she's asleep, lol. We enjoyed the times we could visit and spend hospitable company with both you and John.

It is hard for so many left behind to find closure and say goodbye, but I never met anyone on the other side who ever wanted to come back. Since you left the dogs got too skinny like you, how they loved and missed you. Well you have went on to graduation, where the rest of us await to be. Free from the cares, pain, and suffering of this world, is a good place to be.

Rest in peace my friend,

Dr. Joseph & Mirna Gering

Ohh Lonna (forever to me as LaLa).. meeting you and enjoying your company was the best. We had a bond from the beginning. You were loved by many and I will miss you so much. You had all the same qualities and style as my Mother. I will always remember how you loved me to dance with you!! "1,2,3..1,2,3," as I turned you around or we would "twist". RIP beautiful.

Much love,
JD
