Lora Anderson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 17, 2024.
Lora Maxine Anderson, also known as Maxine Anderson, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024, at the age of 92 in St. Louis, Missouri. Maxine was born on August 27, 1931, in Hahn, Missouri, to Hazel and Virgil Shell. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Sidney R. Anderson, and brother Mitchell Shell.

Maxine, known for her selflessness and generosity, will be deeply missed by her loved ones. She is survived by her sisters, Jackie Fowler of Chaffee, Missouri, and Peggy Morey of Quincy, Illinois, as well as her daughters, Stacy Anderson of Arlington, Virginia, and Sheila Anderson of Florissant, Missouri, and numerous other family members.

Throughout her life, Maxine pursued a career as a cosmetologist while also dedicating her time to being a homemaker. She took great pride in her work and brought happiness to her clients through her skills and caring nature.

In her free time, Maxine found joy in gardening and particularly collecting irises. Her green thumb was evident in the vibrant blooms that adorned her garden, and her collection of irises was a testament to her passion and dedication.

Maxine Anderson will be remembered for her kind heart, selflessness, and her love for her family. Her presence will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A private graveside service will be held on a future date to celebrate Maxine's life and honor her memory. In lieu of flowers or other gestures of sympathy, the family kindly requests donations to be made to a local botanical garden in honor of Maxine's love for gardening.
