Loren Sorheim

Loren "Stac" Sorheim, age 58, passed away on August 23, 2025, in West Bend, Wisconsin. Born on March 12, 1967, in Bagley, Minnesota. Loren lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and the great outdoors.

Loren graduated from Virginia High School and went on to study at DeVry University in Kansas City, Missouri. He later became a certified ASE mechanic-a profession he not only excelled in but also deeply loved. His commitment to his craft was evident in his remarkable 30-year career with Goodyear, where he was known for his loyalty, skill, and passion for helping others through his work.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Loren found joy and peace in nature. Whether he was hunting in the woods, casting a line into the water, or enjoying the thrill of riding his Harley and shooting guns, he embraced every opportunity to be outside. Classic cars, music and cooking were also among his favorite interests reflected both his vibrant spirit and generous heart.

Loren's quick wit and sense of humor made him a joy to be around. He had an easy way of making people laugh and feel welcome. Known for being a caring and compassionate family man who would give you the shirt off his back, Loren was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. Those who knew him were proud to call him their own.

His life will be forever cherished and he will be missed by his mother Carol Sorheim (Jim McCormick); sister Tracy Zoretich (John); brother Bob Sorheim (Kim); children Lauren Alexandra Empson (Travis), Matt Whatley (Brooklyn), Paul Whatley, Devon Durkee (Julia), and Tanner Durkee; grandchildren Landon, Zane, Ava, Violet, and Julien; nieces Danielle Harju and Brenlee Helgeson (Brian); great-nieces and nephews Easton, Natalie, Ava, Millard and expected baby girl.

He was preceded in death by his father Loren Herman Sorheim and his grandparents.

Due to such a sudden loss, and his love for family and friends, we are going to hold a celebration of Loren's life in early Summer 2026, so those of you who would like to join us are more able to plan.

Loren leaves behind a legacy of love for family, pride in hard work, laughter shared with friends, and memories made under open skies. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
