Loren Wilson

Loren G. "Willy" Wilson, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, at the age of 76.

Born on November 21, 1948, in Salem, OR, Loren was the son of Joyce A. (Lively) and Virgil L. Wilson. He graduated from North Salem High School in 1967 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Puget Sound in 1972.

Loren built a career in banking regulation after moving to Tigard, OR. In 1984, he married Connie J. Holcomb, and in 1986, they welcomed their daughter, Caitlin M. Wilson. He was a devoted father and a steadfast supporter of Caitlin's endeavors, earning the cherished nickname "Dadio."

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Loren played football, baseball, and basketball in his youth. Later, he developed a passion for duck hunting and Labrador Retrievers. His annual hunting trips to Moses Lake, WA, with his college friends-fondly known as the "Dogs of War"-were a highlight of his life.

In 2001, Loren married Betty M. Sorensen. Together, they embraced Pacific Northwest culture and frequently explored the coast, where Loren could name every lighthouse along the way.

Even in retirement, Loren remained active by working at Home Depot for seven years. He was a valued team member known for his vast knowledge and problem-solving skills, qualities appreciated by colleagues and customers alike.

Loren is preceded in death by his parents, Joyce and Virgil Wilson; his brother Doug Wilson; and his nephew Wiley Wilson. He is survived by his wife Betty (Tigard, OR); his daughter Caitlin (Vancouver, WA); his brother Rob Wilson; sister-in-law Margaret Wilson; nephew Ben Wilson; stepdaughters Niki Lampe and Melanie Koschnitzke; five step-grandchildren; beloved dog Lola; grand-dog Chatos; the Dogs of War; and many family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 2, at 2:00 PM at In Light Hyperbarics, 1601 Broadway Street, Vancouver, WA. All are welcome to attend and are encouraged to wear their favorite shade of blue.
