Lorenzo Hill Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 11, 2016.
Sunrise: April 16, 1954 Sunset: December 10, 2016

Lorenzo Carnel Hill, Sr. was born on April 16, 1954, in Austin, Texas, to Mr. Charles A. Hill, Sr. and Mrs. Dorothy Hill; both of whom preceded him in death. He grew up in Austin, Texas, and attended Anderson High School.

Brother Lorenzo was a self-employed business owner of Fury Janitorial; cleaning commercial buildings for many years. His clients were very pleased with the quality of his work and his professionalism. The late, Brother Robert McCray loved Brother Lorenzo dearly because he was a major help, and faithful worker in Brother McCray's business, M&E Multi-Floor Care. Brother Lorenzo also worked for the Austin Independent School District until he retired. He was a dedicated employee, and he often put long hours into his work.

On July 15, 1978, Brother Lorenzo accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, after hearing the Gospel preached by the late Bishop Roland James Allen, and until his death he continued to faithfully serve the Lord, under the leadership and guidance of Bishop Eddie E. Willis, Sr. After receiving salvation, he was baptized on August 13, 1978. One day later, on August 14, 1978, he was united in holy matrimony to his childhood sweet-heart, the late, Sister Hermene Davis Hill, who had also accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. They were married for thirty-seven years, and to this union was born Cheri Evon Hill, Elizabeth Ann Hill, and Lorenzo Carnel Hill, Jr. He loved his wife, all his children, and was "Papa" to seven grandchildren, whom he cared for as if they were his own children.

During his thirty-eight years of living for Christ, he was a devoted Saint who could be called upon at any time to help with the upkeep of the Church. He would clean the church floors; buffing and polishing them until they shined. Brother Lorenzo was not satisfied until his work was perfectly done. Even throughout his sickness, he attended Church services as his illness permitted.

He was a dear brother in Christ, and a good friend to all who knew him. He was a generous man, who loved to share what he had with everyone; a wonderful father and grandfather, who also helped his own family when they called on him. He purposefully sought out saints who were in need, and he would bless them monetarily; not expecting anything in return, because he looked to God to give him spiritual blessings.

Brother Lorenzo Carnel Hill, Sr. entered into eternal rest on December 10, 2016.

He leaves to cherish fond memories of his life, his children: Two Daughters: Cheri Evon Parker, and her husband, Keith Parker; and Elizabeth Ann Hill; His Son, Lorenzo Carnel Hill, Jr; His Brothers and Sisters: Charles A. Hill, Jr. of Bastrop, Texas; Shirleen Easley; Frances Esmon; James Hill, and wife Georgia; Margie Burleson of Smithville, Texas; Bobby Hill, deceased, his wife, Rose; Alberta Wheeler; Morris Hill, and wife Mamie of Denver, Colorado; Dennis Hill, deceased, his wife Nancy of San Jose, California; Kelly Hill, and wife Evelyn of Elgin, Texas; Rebecca Hill; Kenneth Hill, and wife, Brenda; Edward Hill, and wife Tonya; His Seven Grandchildren, Ariyon Evon Parker, Kaedon Keith Parker, Ceirra Rose Parker, Ariyah Houston, Anejia Hill, Treavon Hill-Chandler, Tavion Hill-Chandler, all of Austin, Texas: and a Host of Relatives, Friends and Co-Workers; as well as his New Covenant Church Family.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at New Covenant Church, 132 Highway 21 West Bastrop, Texas 78602. Followed by the interment at Cook Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.

I knew Mr Hill as the smiling gentleman at Pecan Springs. He always had a kind word and a gentle smile for everyone especially the students. My son and all the students who passed through Kindergarten at Pecan Springs were blessed to have him around. Rest in peace Mr Hill.

Mr. Hill, you were a happy coworker, a great friend, and, most of all, my family! You are missed so much more than you can imagine, and we were more blessed than we could have imagined by having you in our lives. You are in a better place now, but in my heart, you will never be forgotten!
