Loretta Davenport Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 24, 2025.
Loretta Jane Davenport (Dunsing), age 86, of Fort Bragg, left this life and went onto the "mountain" on July 3rd 2025.

She was born on October 28th, 1938, in Eureka, California, to Elmer and Hazel Dunsing. She was preceded in death by her first husband Frank Fales, her second husband Robert Davenport, her beloved son Russell Fales, and numerous siblings.

She is survived by her children Frank Fales, Charlie Fales, Connie Fales, and Robert Davenport (Lisa), many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; also by her loving brothers Gary, Mike, Archie, and Richard.

Loretta ran a home daycare for over 25 years. Her home was always open, and she helped raise generations of children in her community. She was known fondly as Granny, and to the younger ones, Granny Cookie.

Loretta loved to sing, dance, and garden. She was a talented seamstress and was proud of her native heritage.

In her final years, she faced a long battle with dementia, but her love for her family never faded.

Her strength, kindness, and unwavering love will be remembered and cherished always.

Celebration of life will be held August 16th @ 2:00pm at 19250 S Harbor Dr.
