Loretta Summers

Loretta ((Dent) Summers of Gary, Indiana age 80 passed away March 22, 2025. She was born January 9, 1945 in Gary Indiana. Loretta was a graduate of Roosevelt High School class of 1964. She was employed part-time at City of Gary as an Administrative Assistant in the Redevelopment Department. In 1993 she retired from Inland Steel, East Chicago, IN and worked many years at Merrillville Beauty College. Loretta leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted children, Cornall, Sabrina, Charmayne, Marcel(Cheri), Vincent, and Jason(Brittany). Ten loving grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. A host of loving nieces, nephews,cousins, aunts and uncles and precious friends. Loretta is preceded in death by her beloved parents. Clara and Leroy Dent, her twin brother Leo Dent, Brother Timothy Dent, Sisters Irma Reed, and Verdene Dent. Visitation will be Thursday, April 17, 2025, 9:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. all services are held at Van Buren Baptist Church 2585 Van Buren Street Gary,In . Burial will be at the Fern Oaks Cemetery, 1518 E. Elm St. Griffith, IN. Loretta will be deeply missed by her loving, devoted family and dear friends. Services Entrusted To Powell-Coleman Funeral Home.
