It's hard to believe that such a fun, silly, goofy person is now gone from this world. I have so many fun memories of Lori and Bob in college and after; including when they camped out in line for the REI sale, camping at Mt Lassen and the Olympic Penninsula; coming to visit them in California to see what remodel changes they had done to their house and how their sons had grown. Another time when a friend and I were coming to visit and the transmission went out in my car, being rescued by them while waiting for the transmission to be fixed. She will be missed and my prayers are with you all.

I am grateful to have known Lori. What a wonderful caring woman with such a zest for life. She always had a cheerful attitude with such concern and Love for her family. She was so talented with her crafts, knitting , and sewing. We had fun fixing the flowers for Tanner and Tyler Jane,s wedding. I wish I could have known her longer. My heart goes out to all of her family. Keep your special memories close. With love, Kerry

Lori, my niece Sammy will be forever grateful for the help you gave her trying to find a teaching related job when she relocated to Denver in 2009. You put Sammy in contact with several key folks so that she would have exposure to teaching in Jefferson County. This is just the kind of person you are, helpful, kind, cheerful, and always so thoughtful. I so enjoyed playing with you on the tennis courts and getting to share great discussions at Book Club. Thank you! You are sorely missed! Blessings for your family and friends.

Lori,
It has been over a month since the last time I saw you and held your hand. I have missed you ever since. My classroom reminds me of you and how inspirational you were to me as a teaching "friend". You inspired me to be the best teacher I could be; to continue to find new approaches to maximize student growth; and to keep on the cusp of professional learning to better my career. I miss the conversations we had around a ball of yarn with two knitting needles in our hands. I don't think I would have picked up knitting had it not been for you and your willingness to teach me. I loved the classes we took together and the laughter we had trying to learn new stitches, or trying to teach each other how to correct an error without ripping the whole project apart. I have heard it said that a good friend is like a sister. You were that kind of friend to me. Thank you for blessing my life with your smile, laughter, intellegance, creativity, patience, guidance, and friendship. I miss you Lori, but I know you are in a better place...free of pain and cancer. Until we meet again.

I so enjoyed becoming a friend and colleague of Lori's at the DCSD and beyond. Her ability to love, create and laugh was inspiring. I will think of Lori when I knit, bead and have coffee at Steam. I will miss Lori very much.

No words left here can begin to express the deep joy from knowing Lori, nor the deep sorrow from losing her. Lori stood out from other people for her strength, wisdom, bravery, engagement of life and love of others. Not to mention how beautiful and filled with sparkle she always was. She had a glow about her and a twinkle in her eyes and smile. The adoration and devotion of Lori and Bob was that rare connection most couples long for but never quite achieve. They always had it and the happiness and contentment Lori basked in from being married to Bob and raising their two amazing sons together in such beautiful, nature-filled places created a life that although shorter than hoped for, was also fuller than a life can be dreamed of. Lori embraced each day with wonder and enthusiasm. She will always be profoundly missed and remembered by so many, yet even more intensely remain a mentor, teacher and admiration to each of us who knew her... throughout the rest of our lives. The sound of her voice, her wisdom and her dry humor stays with us and we cherish it and are so blessed to hold that close now.

Lori,
The last time that I saw you was by pure chance. It was the summer of 2014 and I was beginning a run into the Collegiate Wilderness outside of Leadville, CO. As I was jogging up I saw a filthy white pick-up meandering down the "road" and it looked strangely familiar, and as the truck crept closer so did its occupants. It was you and Bob, scouting the elk corridors in the wilderness.
You and your family made me dinner, took me skiing, hiking and playing. While many of these came at the minor cost of intermittent manual labor, I knew I had a home on the corner of Desert Willow Lane. That house, that home and all the Jones's were a cornerstone of my community.
At the time I saw you on that beaten down road I didn't know it would be my last farewell, but I can't imagine a more inspiring landscape to remember you by. The sun was shining, the morning dew was fresh, the mountains were larger than life and you and Bob were smiling.
Love,
Wil

Lori, I can't believe that you are gone! You had so many talents, a great cook, a creative interior decorator, knitter and most of all a loyal friend. You and Bob and Sean and Tanner were the leaders of community play! You organized the first Turkey Bowl and then gave all of the boys a commerative picture...the tradition continues to this day. Then there was broomball, fish fry, barbecues, all designed to bring people together. Your family meant everything to you and you did so well with that testosterone infected house - hunting, fishing, camping. Good thing you had Nellie. You were passionate about top quality education and teacher coaching, never giving up your dreams for our schools. You were loved and the planet will miss you, but you have left so many positive things in your wake, the ripples continue. Love, Jan
