Lorin J. Nelson, 81, of Santa Ana passed away on April 29th 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange. Lorin was born in Shelley, Idaho on August 24th 1935. He grew up in Idaho and eventually attended the University of Idaho where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. It was at the University of Idaho where Lorin met his wife Carlene and then they married on October 24th 1959.
Lorin went on to serve in the United States Air Force. After leaving the Air Force he returned to school to obtain his Physical Therapy Degree. He worked in this profession for over 30 years. He was also a member of his Church choir for many years.
Lorin was preceded in death by his spouse Carlene in 2005. Lorin leaves behind his daughter Kathryn Nelson Reyes, son-in-law Raymond, and grandson Chris Romero, all of Orange, CA. He is also survived by his son Timothy Nelson, daughter-in-law Susan, granddaughter Taylor, and grandson Tate all of Elk River, Minnesota and; his sister Lillian Van Epps of Huntington Beach, CA
A memorial service to celebrate Lorin’s life will be held on Saturday, May 13th at 2:00p.m. at Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 13922 Prospect Ave, Santa Ana. 92705.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Lorin’s name to the Music Department at Trinity United Presbyterian Church at the address above.

I appreciated your dad he helped save my husband from dying of a heart attack he's been a good friend and neighbor we all will miss him thank you for having a wonderful dad I know Al Crossno enjoyed having your dad as a friend and neighbor
