KERAS, Lorna
December 20, 1926 – April 22, 2017
It is with profound sadness that we mourn the
loss of our Family Matriarch, Lorna Louise
Keras (nee Lawrence). When Lorna was a
young girl walking home with a friend in her
hometown of Hope, BC, they saw a group of
little boys splashing away in a puddle. Lorna's
friend said, "Look at those naughty little
boys!" and Lorna said, "They're so cute, I'm
going to have 6 of them!" And she did;
complemented nicely by 2 beautiful
daughters. Lorna was predeceased by her
loving husband Albert Keras (1982). Lorna
adored, and was adored by, her 8 children, 27
grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and all
of their partners. She was also a loving sister,
aunt, cousin and friend. Her generosity,
grace, faith and kindness were felt by many
people around the world. No matter what life
tossed her way she handled each situation
with love, patience, and understanding. Lorna
had the biggest twinkle in her eyes,
particularly when she smiled. Her laughter
was infectious and her wisdom was vast.
Even when her health was ailing she
continued to give all she had to others in her
faith and devotion. Go in peace, Lorna,
comforted in your journey by your husband,
sons, and son-in-law before you. Prayer
Service & Viewing will be held at 8 p.m. on
Thursday, May 4 at St. Joseph's Catholic
Church, 20676 Fraser Hwy, Langley, BC, V3A
4G5. Funeral Mass/Mass of Christian Burial
will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 5 at St.
Joseph's Catholic Church, 20676 Fraser
Hwy, Langley, BC, V3A 4G5. Graveside Burial
Service to follow Funeral Mass at 2:30-3 p.m.
at Gardens of Gethsemani, 15694 32 Ave,
Surrey, BC, V3Z 9V1. Flowers gratefully
declined. In lieu of flowers, donate to a
favourite charity or one of Lorna's favourites.
She supported Covenant House Vancouver,
BC ALS Society, and BC Cancer Society.

Aunty Lorna was a lovely person she always made us feel welcome at their farm in Fort Langley. I have very little fond memories of staying there and getting into mischief with Ronnie, Mimi, Larry & Little Richard. She lived a full life with her family by her side. You will be missed by all who new you rest in peace Aunty Lorna

Beloved Lorna rest in peace. In 1995-96 we met in Al BC and SK. Oh what godly moments we shared and with others also. Your prayer: May the presence of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary remain with you always. Lorna, beloved child of God and child of Mary be at peace, Jesus Christ the King of Kings reigns. Amen. I still pray it at wakes in English and/or in French. I will miss our conversations by long distance. I say AMEN to all the beautiful messages sent so far. Sincere and prayerful condolences to the Keras family whom I never met.

Dear Keras family, you have lost a true Elder, Matriarch, who guided and led you all through gentleness, faith, and strength of character. And, we who are related or knew Lorna, your beautiful mother, mourn with you. Her impact on all who knew her is immeasurable. We will miss her and love her memory; her humour, her kindness, and her spirit flame which burned bright. Love and Peace be with you.

Mom, I miss you. Even though everywhere I go you are there.
You showed me courage, faith, kindness, humour and nothing but positivity.
You enjoyed the Star Wars series and in your passing it is fitting that your prayer service is on "May the 4th - be with you!".
The last movie we watched together was "Star Wars - Rogue One".

My loving condolences to all of Lorna's family and friends. She was a wonderful, faith-filled, holy woman who knew the richness and vastness of God's love. She expressed this truth with her life: through her deep peace, her great concern and love for others in which she gave so much of herself, and in her great faith and prayer which she so willingly shared. She truly was a humble hand-maid of the Lord!
