Dear Mrs. Hart, Sean, Kelly and Family:
I was very sorry to hear the news via Facebook of your loss. I always remember the great dad he was to Sean (my classmate) and to Kelly, seeing him at school events and cheering everyone on at swim meets. I was always kind of sad that I didn't need my eyes checked, because he was just the coolest doctor! My thoughts are with you.

We are so sad to hear about "Lord Hart". We love you all dearly, as our family! We have so many great memoris of Uncle Loren. From the Keys and the Aloe hair remover, to "Who's #1?". We will always have a smile on our face remembering the good times together. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time of saddness.

I have memories of him tickling me as he asked me with a serious face to raise my arms following an eye exam at his office in Beaconsfield! :)

My deepest sympathies on your loss.

Dear Heather,

Its been decades since you and Lorne and Rosalind and I spent many fun times together when we lived in Montreal. We’ve thought of you and Lorne often, and regretted one of the inevitabilities of moving away – losing touch. Seeing Lorne’s obituary saddened us deeply, but it also brought back many images of a happy, carefree guy, puffing on his pipe – often unlit – as he intently prepared your boat for sailing or played with some other gadget or did some other thing with the enthusiastic and infectious pleasure that was his trademark.

When we left Montreal in 1971 to finish my training in Denver, Lorne made sure I was equipped with the latest technology in light sensitive glasses, so I wouldn’t have to worry about carrying sun glasses as well. I might still have them yet, lying unused but still loved in some drawer like the velveteen rabbit of the immortal childrens story. I’ll try to look for them today.

I was very sad to hear that Lorne passed away and to learn that he suffered from Parkinsons disease for so many years. I remember him as a tall, slim good looking man and that is how I would like to keep him in my memory. I'm so sorry for your loss.

A visit to see Dr. Lorne Hart was always fun. He had a twinkle in his eye and could always find something wrong in himself that left me feeling good that all I had was myopia and astigmatism. I enjoyed his stories about diving in the Caribbean with Heather and the children. He was a gentleman. I extend my condolences to all his family.

I am so saddened to hear of Lorne's passing. I was a patient during the 70's and 80' and always looked forward to my visits. After being told at age 6 that I'd be blind by 20, I determined not to rely on strong prescriptions, but rather to work the eye muscles harder. Lorne was the first to agree with me on this, and thanks to him, I still enjoy relatively good vision in my early 60's. Lorne made this world a much better place and I know he will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of getting to know him.
