Lorne NOZACK Obituary

Published by Edmonton Journal on Feb. 20, 2016.

NOZACK, Lorne Christopher
On February 12, 2016 at Norwood Hospice, Chris Nozack at the age of 52 peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family. He succumbed to brain cancer after a short but fierce battle.
Chris is survived by his wife Sue, children Kyle (Joanne), Kurtis (Brie), and Jill; parents Elaine Olson, Ed Nozack and stepmom Chere Nozack; brothers Micheal Nozack (Randi Leigh), Scott Olson (Fiona and nieces Ava and Hannah), Shawn Staff (Diane) and step- grandmother Ethel Kalebaba. He was predeceased by his grandparents and his uncles Spencer Olson and Dennis Gratton.
Chris will always be remembered for his caring, giving, understanding, and loving heart. His passion for life was like no other but what was even stronger was his passion to help others. He was a family man at heart and his love for his wife and kids was undeniable. He truly embraced every minute he spent with them.
Delton Community League was his second home and the soccer field lines he marked may never be as straight or as white as they once were.
He touched many lives, he will never be forgotten, and all of us will live life striving to be a better person because of him.
"Easy Come, Easy Go"
Special thanks Dr. Findlay and the U of A staff, Dr. Mertha, Dr. Fulton and the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute. RN Tracey and The Palliative Home Care team. Dr. Barton and the staff at the Norwood Hospice.
In lieu of flowers and gifts Chris had requested either donations to The Delton Community League Sports programs or a charity of your choice.
The Service will be held on March 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Parish (11828 85 St NW) with a Celebration of Life to follow at Delton Community Hall (12325 88 St NW).

An amazing man who has shaped a true gentleman out of Kurt. Not an easy task, and I'm sure Chris appreciates the humor in that. He will be missed, but I know he is carried in the thoughts and confident footsteps of those who knew him, and are better for it.

Norm and I have many wonderful memories of Chris. Of course his warm smile and gentle eyes are what first come to mind. But that little bit of sarcastic humour always gave us a laugh. We know he raised to great sons as they both worked for Norm and we can see the same kindness in their eyes too. Our heartfelt sadness goes out to Sue, and the family. As well as loving prayers asking that you be wrapped in the arms of Jesus and take hold of the love and courage he provides you. xoxo

Our sincerest condolences to you Sue and family, Mike and all the Nozack family in this very sad and difficult time. Although Chris was Kens cousin I didn't know him very long but he impacted my life just the same. When I first met him at a family reunion I was touched by his amazing sense of humor, caring nature and willingness to help out in so many ways. He was truly amazing. I know he is watching over you with pride and loving you from a distance.

The first time I met Chris was when he came to our office and asked a vase for his flowers he brought to surprise you,you were still on home visit. That day I knew you are so blessed to have him. His life is a treasured memory. He was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.

Sue and family
Where do I even begin to express my sadness for you guys during this time. Chris was a special friend that I will never forget. Working literally side by side at ETL for 15 yrs, he taught me a lot about living life to the fullest and enjoying the journey. Always giving of himself, he did that without even blinking an eye, always willing to help others at a drop of a hat. Thank you Chris for all you did. I'm proud to have known you and to call you my friend. Until we meet again...Our deepest condolences from Jodi and I.

Dear Sue, Kyle, Curtis and loved ones...so sorry for the loss of a fantastic man. He was a ray of sunshine to all he met...may peace and unity in your sad times keep you sane.

Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time;
Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o'er life's solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.
