Lorraine LaPointe

Lorraine (Lapointe) LaPointe passed away at home on Saturday, April 11 surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 13, 1923 in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High in 1941 and married her husband Adrian (Abe) during WWII, moved to Hampton Ponds and was a communicant at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield. They recently received World Wide Marriage Encounter award for the longest married couple in MA. She was an avid card player, enjoyed visiting shrines, dancing, painting landscapes and gardening. She and her husband wintered in Bonita Springs, Florida for over 25 years where together they brought life into their community regularly organizing social events. Lorraine was known for her ability to make people laugh and have fun. She will be missed by her devoted loving husband of seventy years. She also leaves her three sons, Robert of Granby, MA, his wife, Denise, William of Westfield, his wife, Beth, and Bruce of VA Beach, his wife, Shirley, 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Granby, MA on Thursday, April 16. Family will be present at the church at 9:15 to receive those who wish to offer their condolences before Mass. Burial at the Mass Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, 264 Cottage St, Springfield, MA 01104. Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
