PLATTSBURGH -- Mrs. Lorraine P. Ottinger, of the Military Turnpike, Plattsburgh, N.Y., passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at the CVPH Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in Hartford, Conn., the daughter of Phillip and Bertha (Bergen) Pickman.
As a young career woman, she met her beloved Fred, husband of 47 years. After marrying, her busy life centered around her children and her responsibilities as an Air Force officer's wife. They settled in Plattsburgh after many transfers. She was blessed with a loving family and dear friends. She loved to entertain and spend time with those who were dear to her and was always ready for the adventures Fred had in store for her. Lorraine will be truly missed by the many family and friends whose lives she so deeply touched.
In addition to her husband, Fred, of Plattsburgh, she is survived by her three children, Rick Ottinger of Daytona Beach, Fla., Eric Ottinger and his wife, Yukie Tamaki, of Plattsburgh, Amy Ottinger and her husband, Phil Schinman, of San Francisco, Calif.; four grandchildren, Theoren, Mio, Trevor and Kano; two sisters, Annette Yarden of Plattsburgh, Sandi Boyd of Texas; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Pickman of Plattsburgh; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be at Saratoga National Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, N.Y.
