Born Aug. 17, 1949, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Hermoine Wilmer of Oakmont and the late John H. Scherer. A lifelong resident of O'Hara, Ms. Scherer owned the Scherer Bookkeeping Co. in O'Hara. She was a member of the Guyasuta Volunteer Fire Company and treasurer of O'Hara Township. In addition to her mother, she is survived by five sisters, Hermoine Balph of Penn Hills, Theresa Iantosca oof San Francisco, Calif., Tina Wolfe of Columbus, Ohio, Jenny Ellis of Plum and Lisa Worms of Monroeville; a brother, Steve Scherer of Indiana Township; 17 nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Altman. Friiiends were received in the Thomas M. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Blawnox. A Mass of Christian Burial was held March 13 in St. Scholastica Roman Catholic Church, Aspinwall. Burial was in St. Marys Cemetery in Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville section. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, 10 Duff Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
