Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 31, 2025.
Lorraine (Schultz) Stuenkel passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025, in Waterloo, Iowa, at the age of 83.

Lorraine was born on March 9, 1942, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, where she spent her formative years. Lorraine married Roger Stuenkel on April 12, 1969. They raised their family of three boys in Monee, IL. She and her family were longtime members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Richton Park, IL. She worked as a bookkeeper for a dairy distributor for many years before retiring to Marion, Iowa with Roger. Lorraine and Roger became active members at King of Kings Church in Robins, IA.

Over the years, she enjoyed baking, scrapbooking, cardmaking, and needlepoint. She was active in her church community, including teaching Sunday School and participating in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Roger. She is lovingly remembered by her sons Mark, David, and Thomas; and by her brothers Don, Robert, and Bruce. She will be missed greatly by her daughter-in-law Carolyn, three grandchildren Allison, Elliott, and Julia, and other extended family and dear friends.

The family is planning a private gathering to celebrate her life. Donations can be made to King of Kings church in Robins, IA or to the Parkinson's Foundation in her memory.
