Louis B. Bayer

Louis B. Bayer JACKSON- Louis B. Bayer, predeceased by his loving wife, Elizabeth H. Bayer; beloved father of Suzanne Alexander, Susan Hougen, Patricia Strachan, William Bayer and Julie Donaldson, and brother of H. Timothy Bayer, passed away on Dec. 16, 2010, at the age of 89 at his home in Jackson, NJ. Adored by his nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Louis will be remembered for his love and devotion to family and friends. He was born in St. Louis, MO, and attended University City High School. He went on to study music at Kemper Military School and College, where he was the drum major for the marching band. Louis proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a Sergeant 1st Class in the 13th Armored Division, which served in France and Germany, and he received two bronze stars for valiant service. After his discharge, he ran the Kreismann-Bayer Insurance Agency in St. Louis with his late father, Harvey P. Bayer, and his brother, H. Timothy Bayer. In 1978, Louis and family moved to Boise, ID, where he worked as financial manager for his brother-in-law, Robert W. Halliday, of R.W. Halliday & Associates. Louis was an avid golfer and gardener, a gifted clarinetist, conductor, and composer. He had just completed the "Betty Bayer Memorial Park" in honor of his beloved late wife at Bella Terra, in Jackson, NJ.. Because of the joy that he brought the community there, he was recently named Goodwill Ambassador of Bella Terra.
