Louis P. Cervenak
Louis P. Cervenak, 82, of Lehigh Avenue, Palmerton, died suddenly, Monday afternoon, March 12, 2012, at home. He was the husband of Jane G. (Frigon) Cervenak since April 17, 1971. Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Joseph and Rose (Macay) Cervenak. Louis worked as a bench hand for Lucent Technologies Corp., CAllentown, for 19 years, retiring in 1989. Previously, he worked as a barber in S. Bethlehem, for Skytop Lodge, Canadensis. Louis was a member and longtime collector of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. He was a 1948 graduate of Palmerton High School, and a US Nacy Veteran of Korea, serving in the Atlantic, achieving rank of SH3. He was a member of American Legion, Palmerton Post, past commander of the fmr VFW, Palmerton Post. Louis enjoyed bowling and was a member of both Sokol Hall, Palmerton, and Hungarian Hall, Palmerton. An avid hunter, Louis loved his family, and especially enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing. Survivors: Wife; son, Charles and wife Gretchen Laviolette of Lehighton; three grandchildren, Ghyslyn, Jason and Gina. He was predeceased by a brother. Services: Memorial Mass, 10 a.m., Thursday, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 243 Lafayette Aveune, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call, 9 to 10 a.m., Thursday in Church. Interment with Military Honors, Parishs Old Cemetery, 3rd Street, Palmerton. Arrangements, Campton Funeral Home, Palmerton. Online condolences: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com.
