Louis Colameco Obituary

Published by The Daily Times from Sep. 9 to Sep. 10, 2014.
Louis B. Colameco, Jr., age 78 Louis B. Colameco, Jr., age 78, of Fort Myers, FL passed away peacefully on September 4, 2014 under the care of Hope Hospice. Louis was born September 22,1935, in Darby, PA to the late Louis and Elizabeth (Varano) Colameco. He has resided in Fort Myers since 2003, and formally resided in Stone Harbor, NJ. He was preceded in death by his son Thomas M. Colameco(1980) and daughter-in-law, Barbara A. Colameco(2010). Louis was a graduate of Villanova University, class of 1957, with a BS in Economics. He loved all things Villanova. He was an entrepreneur and business man. He started out in his parents business, Lou San's Salons, and then moved on to start L&C Contractors and more recently Yorkshire Farms, now known as Wellshire Farms. Prior to moving to Fort Myers, Louis lived in Stone Harbor, NJ for 18 years where he was an active member of Maris Stella Roman Catholic Church. Louis had a calling to community service, feeding the poor, starting food drives and soup kitchens and visiting the sick. He was a Eucharistic Minister and served as a Pastoral Care volunteer at local hospitals and was involved in Prison Ministry. An avid outdoorsman, Louis had a legendary green thumb and loved hunting and fishing. He was a "Captain of the Sea" with his captain's license and enjoyed fishing and chartering in the waters of New Jersey. While residing in Florida, Louis was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #11425. He will always be remembered for his "bigger than life" personality, wittiness and great sense of humor. His love for Villanova, the Philadelphia Eagles, gardening, hunting, fishing, community service and his love for his church cannot compare to the love he had for his family. Louis was a loving husband, father and grandfather ("Pops") to the following survivors: His loving wife of 56 1/2 years, Marion S. (nee Stagliano); two sons, Louis B. (Virginia) Colameco, III (Jessica, Thomas and Matthew) and Christopher J. (Monica) Colameco (Christina, Nicholas, Dominic, and Andrea); two daughters, Elisabeth M. (Rick) Odegard (Matthew and Kendra) and Marion S. (Mike) Johnson (Michael, Jr., Anthony and Thomas). Funeral Mass: Saturday at 10:30a.m. at St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church ,617 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford, PA. 19086 Visitation: Saturday from 9:30-10:15a.m. at the church. Inurnment: Saturday at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield. Dear Lou and Ginny and the entire Colameco Family, time does keep marching on but thank God our memories never fade! After reading your Dads obituary it is easy to feel special thoughts about a very special man! He totally stood for goodness and for doing things the way that they should be done. Lou, the more I get to know you the more I can see why you try to emulate your Dad and what he stood for in life. May the perpetual light shine upon him and may God continue to bless the Colameco Family!

Marion, Lou, Ginny and the entire Colameco Family, We did not know Mr. Colameco personally but his glowing and worthy obituary demonstrates what a great and happy-go-lucky man that he must have been. He chose happiness in life and it appears that he did all that he could to make others happy too. Mrs. Colameco, may your husband find the peace of Christ and may the perpetual light shine upon him! Our love, prayers and condolences to you all.
