Louis W Fort, 70, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024 in Sarasota, Florida. Lou was born in Tom's River, New Jersey on November 14, 1953 to Hugo and Gladys Fort. The family eventually moved to New Hampshire.

Lou attended Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua. After graduation, he spent 3 years in the Army. During his service he was stationed in Germany. After being honorably discharged, Lou attended Salisbury State University in Maryland and Keene State in New Hampshire.

Lou had a number of different career paths, eventually becoming an LNA. After retiring he moved to Florida with his wife Mary.

Lou had a great affection for cigars and bourbon and enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino. He always loved horses and recently was able to have a part ownership in 2 thoroughbreds.

Lou is survived by his wife, Mary (Muccio) of Sarasota. He also leaves his brother Claudio and his wife, Brenda of Rutland, Vermont and his sister, Daniela Fancher, and her husband, Mike of Merrimack, New Hampshire. He leaves two nephews and a niece, Joshua Robinson of Merrimack, New Hampshire, Camden Fort of Connecticut and Gabriela Fort, of Salt Lake City, Utah.

A celebration of life will be held 1pm March 9, 2024 at the Grande Oaks Preserve clubhouse in Sarasota.
