I send my deepest condolences to his family. I worked for Mr. Franklin at his reality company after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 . He picked me up in Baton Rouge , Louisiana a few times .He loved Luther Vandross . He was the best Person I ever worked for in New Orleans . He owned a lot of houses there . I use to also live in a house in Little woods during the time I worked for him. He is gone but never forgotten by me.

Thinking of you every single day dad. Everyday. Kameron is getting so big and he is such a sweet boy. He doesn't talk alot yet but he understands very well. My favorite thing about his is that he LOVES music. He dances and sings alot. We took a trip to Disneyland a few weeks ago and he came back singing "It's a small world". lol If I ask him for a hug or a kiss sometimes he shakes his head no lol but most of the time he holds his hands out and gives me a big hug or he just puts his lips on my face for a kiss. lol It's the sweetest thing. He is just so sweet and so smart. I'm planning his second birthday party, 2 years old already.
It makes me so sad that you didn't make it to see his first. I just can't believe you're not here to see him grow. He did something last night that reminded me of you that I had to just pause and take it in. He was tapping his fingers on his leg even though no music was playing. :-) You used to do that sometimes to what I imagine was a melody in your head that no one else could hear. Every now and again Jordan will randomly mention how funny you were and will say she misses grandpa. It takes everything in me to not well up in front of her. I'll make sure they both know you. I hope wherever you are that you still feel our love for you. Fly high butterfly, fly high. Love, Kim

When I reflect on this picture, I wonder what mom and dad dreamed of for their future when they met and became sweethearts in high school, 1957. Like many, they dreamed of the family they would create, the professions they would start, the life they would build together. And so they began, marrying in 1960 and soon thereafter, starting a family. 1962, Julie Ann, 1963, Audrey Cecilia, 1964, Louis Jr, and 1967, Mark David. They would embark on a life long love and partnership, building family and business. Through its challenges and triumphs, dad you never missed an opportunity to profess your love, admiration and respect for mom for being the glue of our family. Dad, thank you for blessing us with the PERFECT mom, this incredible mother, Ann Kohlbatz Franklin, without whom, none of the success of our family would have been possible. Mom, who navigated the difficult roads of life with you, through your imperfections and indiscretions; but never failed or abandoned you. As mom bid you farewell at the Repast, "Farewell, my Love", it was heartfelt.
You know dad, you both were the loves of each other's life. As you asked us in the last days of your life, "please take care of your mother"... of that you need not worry. rest daddy, rest. We've got it from here. your beloved daughter, "sister", "mother", Audrey, aka, Olie Kalodi.
Your beloved family. Rest in peace dad.

Dad, remember mom had this beautiful family photo taken in 1969, sent to you for Father's Day, when you were hard at work in Chicago, building a future for your young family. I have always loved this picture and the memories it brings. Rest in peace dad.

I met Mr Franklin as an active member of the HVHOA in Slidell, LA. He was quiet, serene, serious; always providing sound input in the best interest of residents of the subdivision. He will be missed as a resident, a neighbor, board member, guardian of children, helper to those in need, and as a friend!! RIP, Mr Franklin!

I love you and miss you so much already dad. I will never lose the sound of your voice and the many words of wisdom you’ve given me to continue to guide me now as I navigate the rest of my days without you here. I will continue to make you proud and I will make sure Jordan and Kameron know you through the many stories I have to share. Who else is going to say “Kimberlay, Kimberlay, Kimberlay” a hundred times like you did. Lol. I imagine grandpa Louis, grandma Cecil, grandma Ophelia, auntie Jackie, auntie Lillie Mae and so many others greeting you with the biggest jubilee of jokes and laughter to welcome you as you transitioned to heaven.
You can finally get your rest. Lord knows you didn’t seek enough of it while you were here.
Love your little mooch, Kim

Condolences to the Franklin family on the loss of your loved one, Mr. Louis Franklin. Louis was truly a kind and generous man. I truly appreciate how he availed his time and resources to my children, Skye and Julian. With every academic achievement, he took time from his ever busy schedule to be in attendance. What an example he was for those honored to be in his circle. I salute you my friend as you take your place in the heavenly education department. Missing you forever.
