Louis Fusco Obituary

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP -- Louis L. Fusco, 80, died Monday at his home at Rose Hill Assisted Living, Washington Township.



Born in Philadelphia, PA, he resided in Hamilton and Washington Townships most his life.

A U.S. Air Force Veteran of World War II, Mr. Fusco was appointed to the Hamilton Township Police Department on November 1, 1950 and retired as a Captain on February 2, 1981 after thirty-one years of service. He was known as the original Officer Friendly of the Hamilton Police Force. He was a member and past president of the NJ State Fraternal Order of Police, past president of PBA Local #66, Hamilton, one of the founding members of Safety Town of Hamilton Township, and a member of the Washington Township Senior Citizens Club.

Son of the late Leone and Vincenza DiPitma Fusco; and husband of the late Anna Merlo Fusco.

He is survived by a son, Louis L. Fusco, Jr of Morro Bay, CA; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra L. and Anthony DeLorenzo of Washington Township; a brother, Mario Fusco of California; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and Ed DiNicola of Springfield, PA, and Rita and Jim Brunelli of Broomall, PA; six grandchildren, Anthony and Marcela DeLorenzo, Michael, Anna, Cecilia, and Sarah Jane Fusco; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 8:30 a.m. Friday from the Brenna Funeral Home, 340 Hamilton Ave., Trenton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. at Saint Anthony's Church, 629 South Olden Ave., Trenton.

Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Hamilton.

Calling hours will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
