Louis Ray Loving Sr.

Funeral services for Louis Ray Loving, Sr., 47, of Lufkin will be held at 1 p.m. today, July 18, 2012 in the Elwin Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories with Reverend Jimmy Thornton and Manuel Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mr. Loving was born July 23, 1964 in Lufkin to Ada (Scogins) and the late Charles 'Catfish' Loving and lost his life on July 15, 2012 after a long battle with cancer in Shreveport. He was employed by Loving Tile as a Tile Setter and loved fishing, riding around with friends, music, and playing the bass guitar. Most of all, he loved his family and grandchildren and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Loving is survived by his mother, Ada Loving of Lufkin; sons, Louis Ray Loving, Jr., Terry Loving, both of Lufkin, and Dalton Loving of Huntington; daughter, Chasity Loving of Huntington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Denise Loving of Lufkin and Charles and Patricia Loving of Shreveport, LA; 10 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles 'Catfish' Loving; a niece, Lynn Loving; and a nephew, Michael Loving.
