LOUISE HODGSON

Age 86. Passed away on November 4, 2007. Beloved sister of Kenneth P. Stapp of Chimney Rock, North Carolina. Born April 17, 1921 in Wellston, Ohio. Preceded in death by her husband, William Lester Hodgson in 1965. Louise immersed herself completely into the cultural scene of Detroit. A longtime supporter of Michigan Opera Theatre, Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Music Society, Hilberry Theatre, Pro Musica, Detroit Institute of Arts and multiple other arts organizations, Louise considered the arts to be a life-long learning experience. Louise graduated Magna Cum Laude from Franklin College in Indiana. She was a labor relations arbitrator with Michigan Bell Telephone from 1942 until 1988. She continued working privately as a labor arbitrator for years thereafter. Louise was a staunch supporter of Detroit and entertained her friends with wit, humor, and intelligence. There will be a gathering of friends on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, 5:30-9:00 p.m. at Traffic Jam & Snug Restaurant, 511 West Canfield, Detroit.
