On Jan. 30, 2021, Louise Hubert passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 91. Louise, a lifelong Scranton resident, was born on Sept. 17, 1929, the daughter of the late John and Frances Jordano. She was an honors graduate of Scranton Technical High School. She was married to her late husband, Charles Hubert, from 1950-1996. Louise was a lifelong parishioner of St. Rocco's Church and active at Immaculate Conception Parish.
Louise has three children, John Hubert (Kathleen), Dunmore; Paul Hubert (Mary Kay Gilboy Hubert), West Chester; and Debbie Hyler (Greg Smith), Scranton. She has seven grandchildren, Jason Hyler, Lauren Hubert, Eric Hubert, Dr. Meghan Hubert Pap, Jordan Hubert, Shawnna Kresge and Sarah Hubert, all of whose professional accomplishments she was always so proud. Her great-grandchildren include Connor, Colin, Viola, Vivian, Gabriella, Benjamin and Bennett. She is also survived by her sister, Betty D'Andrea, Scranton; and her brother, Anthony Jordano (Susan), McLean, Virginia.
Louise was well-known through Lackawanna County as a specialist of men's suits for 28 years at JC Penney's and then 18 years at Boscov's, rarely missing a day. She worked diligently until she was nearly 90 years old. Special thanks to Dr. Anees Fogley and his staff for their compassionate care over the decades. The world lost an unforgettable mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton. The family will receive friends in the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. All those attending the Mass are asked to socially distance and are required to wear a mask. Interment is private at the discretion of the family at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.
In lieu of flowers, Louise's wish is for the establishment of a fund for the future care and well-being of her great grandson, Connor Earley. Checks may be made payable to John Hubert, c/o Vanston and James Funeral Home, 1401 Ash St., Scranton, PA 18510.
Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Scranton.

I am very sorry for your loss. I worked with Louise over 40 years ago at JC Penney in the men's department while I was attending college. I just wanted to tell you that Louise was one of the nicest persons I ever met and a sheer pleasure to work with. I saw her relatively recently at Boscov's and we chatted about the good times at Penney's. I will always fondly remember her as a positive inspiration and a wonderful person. God bless.

John, Paul, Debbie - so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was an amazing person. Grief can be so difficult - I know. I am grieving her also. She was the best sister in law that anyone could ask for. Louise will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Louise was an inspiration! She worked for many years (just like her Father!) it was like she never wanted to give up. To the entire Hubert family, please accept my sincere sympathies.

Aunt Louise she was one of my favorites. Every time I would go to Penny's or Boscov's over the years I would stop to see her. Always pleasant and a truly great person. She will be missed.
