Louise Long Obituary

Louise M. (Parten) Long, 68, of Rochester, formerly of Minneapolis, passed away after a lengthy illness Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Long III, M.D.; and her parents, Gerald and Lucille Parten. 

Louise is survived by her children, Lara (Ron) Way, Kristin (Matt Parrillo) Long and Harry (DeeDee) Long IV; grandchildren, Will, Emily and Daniel Way, Cameron Parrillo, and Elise, Lindsey and Harry Long V; brother, Gary (Barbara) Parten; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Louise was a longtime member of the Rochester Orchestra and Chorale and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Rochester, where she served as a deacon. She was a lifelong member of the American Bell Association International.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the National Kidney Foundation.

Funeral service will be held Monday, Jan. 19, at 10 a.m. with visitation 1/2 hour before at Lakewood Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave. So., Minneapolis. Burial to follow.

To the Long Family,

It is with great sadness to hear that you have lost another family member. I knew Louise and Harry as fellow members of the American Bell Association. It is unfortunate that they both left us so soon. With them went great knowledge of bells and wonderful people. May they rest in peace.
