Louise MCKINNEY Obituary

MCKINNEY, Louise August 4, 1940 - March 5, 2018 Louise McKinney (nee Martell) passed away at the age of 77 years in Calgary, Alberta. Though her heart may not have been physically well, you wouldn't find anyone with a bigger, kinder one; her love for people, particularly children had her doing whatever she could to help improve others lives. Be it sharing her stories of the vast amount of life experiences she's had or rolling up her sleeves and contributing to community enrichment from the jobs she held or the committees/boards she was a member to. For the majority of her life Saskatoon has been her home, where her involvement throughout this city speaks to her sense of belonging and pride. She was loved immensely by her family and friends and will be missed more than words can express. Louise is survived by her daughters Veronica, Lisa and Rhonda; her grandchildren Sammie-Jo, Steven, Stacey, Scott, Sterling, Kona, Samaria and Nikosis; and two great-grandchildren Kendrick and Emerson; eight siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by her husband Ken on December 18, 2016. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of this very special little lady Friday, March 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church (Corner of Avenue O and 20th Street W). Reception to follow at the Church. There are some who bring a light so great into the world that even after they have gone, the light remains. You are our light.

My condolences ❤ to your family. Louise was an amazing woman and a dear friend of my late mom, Jane Brown (Romphf ). She always showed her love to my brother, Frankie and myself, Ernestine, a compassionate and loving heart. She was always my guardian growing up. Take care and hope all is well. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Rhonda - I was very sad to hear of your mom's passing, even though you had told me she had multiple health problems. I have always admired Louise - she had a heart for the young aboriginal mom's and taught them how to shop for food, cook good meals and also how to parent their children! She will be missed very much by family and friends!
