Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 13, 2015.
Louise M. Smith (nee: Saxton), age 99 of Grawn, passed away on July 12, 2015. Loving mother of Dawnita (Ebert) March of Interlochen. Mother in law of Elaine Church and Edda Smith. Dearest grandmother of 17, great grandmother of 35 and great great grandmother of 18. Sister of Velda (Don) Wolf. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband: George E. Smith; sons: George Jr. and Milton; grandsons: Dana and Jeff; parents; Ray and Lola Saxton and siblings: Nellie, Delbert, Arthur, William, Ethlyn, Margaret, Gordon and Robert. Louise would always be seen with yarn in her hands. She enjoyed travelling, square dancing, cooking and gardening but she mostly treasured spending time with her family. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the caring and compassionate staff at the Grand Traverse Pavilions for the wonderful care they provided for mom. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015; 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Grawn. Memorial contributions made to the Community of Christ Church in Interlochen. Please share a memory with the family on their online guestbook.
