Louise Inez Lou Thompson, 78, of 418 Locust Court, Owensboro, died Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at her home. She was born June 21, 1929 to the late Charles and Mary Ethel Tweddell Reisz. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother she enjoyed gardening, quilting, playing cards and watching sports. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Thomas Melvin Thompson on February 20, 2005, as well as her sisters, Martina Lucy Krampe and Edna Bowlds and her brothers, Leon Reisz, Victor Reisz, and Robert Reisz.

Survivors include her daughter, Cindy McLaughlin and her husband Patrick of Boca Raton, Fl; her sons, Dr. Gary Melvin Thompson and his wife Candy of Stanton, KY, Stephen Joseph Thompson and his wife Debbie, Paul Albert Thompson and his wife Gail and Dr. David Charles Thompson and his wife Dr. Vicki Frey all of Owensboro; her grandchildren, Dr. Adam Thompson and his wife Amy, Justin Thompson, Seth Thompson, Dr. Valerie Warren and her husband Chris, Tina Booker and her husband Dr. Wes, Katie Thompson and her fiancEric Higdon, Andrew McLaughlin and his wife Becky, Katherine McLaughlin, Tristan Thompson, Taryn Thompson, Ryan Thompson and Alli Thompson; and her great-grandchildren, Stephen, Hayden and Nolan Warren, Breyton and Benjamin Booker, and Chloe Thompson; a sister, Lorena Boarman; and a brother, John Reisz and his wife Margaret.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home where prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m.; and after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice.
